The Screenplay is Done (For Now)

The script is done. Over 3,000 lines. I wrote it years ago, just for fun, and it's been sitting on a hard drive ever since.

Why didn't I do anything with it? Because making an animated movie alone is insane. You need a studio. Or at least a team. I had a screenplay and a day job.

Now I'm actually making it.

This Isn't an AI Script

I want to be clear about this: AI didn't write the screenplay. I wrote every line. The story, the characters, the dialogue — all me.

AI is helping me produce it. Writing Blender code. Managing tasks. The boring stuff that would otherwise take forever. But the creative choices? Those are mine.

The screenplay is the blueprint. AI is helping build the house.

What It's About

Gabe and Nina finally get a date night. First one in months. They're exhausted. They just want dinner and a movie. Then Gabe's experimental gadget malfunctions and they end up in the Jurassic era.

Their kids Mia and Leo have to rescue them. With help from a depressed fairy godfather and a magical dinosaur.

I know how it sounds. But it works. I think.

The Characters

Mia — Older sibling. Takes charge. Has to learn that leading means listening, not just bossing.

Leo — Younger sibling. Sees things differently. The part of him that makes him "weird" is literally what saves everyone.

Ruben — Fairy godfather with depression. Not played for laughs. It's a real thing he works through. I wrote him in 2019 and he still feels relevant.

Jetplane — A dinosaur that farts colors. Yes really. It makes sense in context. I promise.

Gabe and Nina — Parents who thought traffic was the worst thing about date night. Then dinosaurs happened.

What Might Change

The screenplay's done but not locked. Every script changes in production. I'll see scenes animated and realize the pacing is off. Some dialogue will sound weird out loud. Scenes will run too long.

That's fine. That's how it works.

What's Next

Storyboards. Character designs. Building the actual Blender tools. Environments. Props. A list that would take a studio a year.
